How to overcome overthinking

     In this 21st century, competition is the only reality. Everyone is just running to achieve goals. Everybody want's to be successful. People are working harder and harder. But the harsh reality of this fastest world is 'stress'. There are many reasons of stress but one of the major reason is "overthinking". It is the most annoying mental problem. Unfortunately every second person is suffering through overthinking.

     Here we are going to discuss that how to overcome overthinking. We know that it is tough to overcome it easily but not impossible. By working on following tips you can definitely reduce it.


1. Write it down 

     It is scientifically proven that writing down your emotions literally helps you to get out of it. Not just overthinking but whenever you feeling emotionally heavy or stressed; go and just write down whatever your mind is saying, like every single word. You will realise how helpful it is. So start journaling or diary writing. If not possible then write only that time when you feel that you are doing overthinking. It helps you to get out of it instantly. This method not just help you to overcome overthinking but you can also observe your thoughts and figure out problems.


2. Plan a time to think about it 

     Some people are so so much trapped in overthinking that they are doing it 24/7. It is harder to them to stop overthinking instantly. If they try to stop it forcefully then they become uncomfortable or stressed. So in these cases, inspite of forcing yourself to stop it completely, you may plan a time to think about it. This is the bestest way to reduces the intensity of overthinking. Whenever you realise that you are overthinking warn your mind strictly that " I have to do it in the planned time only". Trust me it is better than doing it 24/7.


3. Allow yourself 15 min to think about it 

     Sometimes people do overthinking because of certain emotions like jealousy or trust break. In these cases that particular topic is hitting again and again in your mind and you are getting irritated. So in such a situations, allow your mind to think about it completely for 15 minutes. But after that just forget about it and start working. It works out.


4. Distract yourself 

     If you are overthinking about any person then it is getting harder to come out of it. So in such situations try to distract yourself from that thoughts. Whenever you realise that you are overthinking about a person, give yourself a tough task or your favourite task. Make yourself busy in other activities. It helps you to getting away from those thoughts.


5. Firmly tell yourself to stop 

     Sometimes we have to become harsh on ourself to get out from some situations. Whenever you realise that you are overthinking because of someone ditched you or you are giving sympathy to yourself as something bad happens with you; firmly tell yourself to 'STOP'. Stop being victim all the time. Be strong. Accept whatever happens to you and move on. Trust me being harsh on yourself for your own mental health is not bad at all.


6. Stay present focused 

     As we mentioned earlier, try to make yourself busy. Try to do different things so that you are becoming more present focused. Stop thinking about past and even about future. Live in the present moment. This definitely helps you to get out from overthinking community.


     So these are some solutions which helps you to get out from the most annoying problem - overthinking. If you try to practice these regularly, you will definitely overcome overthinking and step on to creating stronger 'ME'. Afterall MeMatters bruhh...
